If you haven't logged in for a while there are lost of new
members and photos for you to look at. Remember that you need to
have a photo on your profile to have the best chance of being
contacted by new people. Also remember to reply to everyone that
contacts you as this is simply good manners.
Get access to new photos as they are
approved.
You may want to know who is putting on new photos a bit easier
than by logging in each time. Now by downloading a piece of software
called a "newsreader" you can be alerted automatically when a new
photo is approved. You may have seen this graphic: 
whilst searching
on news sites such as the BBC news site. This means there is what is
called a "news feed" that can be accessed by a "News reader" and
this can let you know of updates and breaking headlines as they
happen. We have made a very simple "news feed" for when our photos
are approved. In order to access it you will need to download a free
piece of software (of which there are many to choose from) called Awasu. Then in
Awasu navigate to our home page and the software will detect the
feed and you can subscribe to it. When photos are approved and the
file is updated you will get a pop-up message from Awasu. We intend
to add to the number of feeds for the site so you will be able to
view new members as they join, perhaps of people who meet a
particular criteria. But we know you are interested in seeing new
photos so this is what we have done first.
Prayer request
As you know we have worked for over two years to bring this site
to Christians in the UK. We have been pleased with progress so far
and have had many excellent words of encouragement and feedback from
members. Earlier in the year we were growing very rapidly and this
was excellent but we have recently found opposition from a number of
non-Christian companies that have wanted to lure away Christians
onto their sites. You may have come across them in your searches if
you have clicked on banners or links saying "Christian dating
agency" or similar and have found a big non-Christian site. We have
recently found that out of 11 sites wanting to advertise themselves
as "Christian dating agency" only 4 were actually Christian. This
has made it very hard for the true Christian sites to start out from
the crowd. As long as Christians continue to click on these links
then these sites will continue to advertise in this way and we feel
that this does not benefit Christians in the long-run. If Christians
join these sites then they are exposed to many non-Christians and
those who are opposed to Christ and would want them to lead immoral
lives. The temptation to go out with non-Christians will always be
there but to join these sites further exposes Christians to this. We
consider it our responsibility to not allow this to take place and
we cannot simply allow non-Christians to be dictating the
relationships of Christians. This doesn't seem right before God. In
the light of this we have approached Trading Standards in order to
investigate what we believe to be misleading and possibly false
advertising and see if we can raise the standard of online
Advertising so that Christians can find what they are really looking
for. We would ask for your prayers as we are a small company and
some of these other dating sites are massive. We do believe that we
are serving your best interests in the long-run.
